Two Postdoctoral Positions in Membrane Biophysics and Biochemistry in Kaiserslautern
The Centre for Lipidomics (CZSLip) funded by the Carl Zeiss Foundation at the University of Kaiserslautern (TUK) invites applications to
Two Postdoctoral Positions in Membrane Biophysics and Biochemistry for two to four years starting as soon as possible.
The research activities of CZSLip lie at the interface of biology, chemistry, and physics, with a particular focus on the role of lipids in membrane biophysics and biochemistry.

Tasks and responsibilities
The postdoctoral projects aim at (1) establishing lipidomics on the basis of mass spectrometry in an interdisciplinary environment to address important biological questions related to lipid metabolism and homeostasis at molecular, cellular, and physiological levels and (2) optimising amphiphilic copolymers that solubilise lipid membranes to form nanodiscs providing a native-like lipid-bilayer environment to membrane proteins. Both postdoctoral fellows are expected to contribute to the overall objectives and further develop the technical competences of CZSLip, actively engage in collaborative research projects with in-house and external partners, write publications, and give oral presentations at international conferences.
